What do you think is the future of books? Do you think we'll ever see a future where everything is online? What are the advantages of books?

I really hate to say it, but I think its very possible that we'll see a future without books. I love reading, but I've noticed that less and less people seem to enjoy it. It reminds me of Farenheit 451 or 1984 or Brave New World; all books where reading has been banned. With the growing popularity of the Internet, there might be no need for books in the future, sad as it is. The advantage of books is that they are something tangible that the reader can actually hold, and they seem to mean more than just reading something from off the Internet.

  1. You might be right, Maya- it's a topic that has been debated for some time now and there has been lots of good points on both sides of the fence. Thanks for your thoughtful response to this question!
